Truck driver injured after trying to report erratic driver

7/16/2015

When you’re traveling, you may worry about getting into an accident with another driver. Maybe you drive a truck for work or are moving across the country. Whatever the reason is, as long as you’re on the road, you are at an increased risk of getting into an accident. In cases like the one below, drivers face unnecessary pain and suffering because of other people who are negligent or distracted. Those who don’t drive safely need to be held accountable.

An erratic driver has been accused of striking a tractor-trailer carrying over 1,200 propane gas tanks on Interstate 84 near the border of Connecticut and Massachusetts. The early morning crash took place at around 7:30 a.m. and resulted in many of the full tanks of propane being scattered around the highway. This in itself put other drivers at risk, since the propane had the potential to leak out or to ignite.

According to reports, the truck crash happened shortly after the driver of the propane truck had pulled over to the side of the road. He was in the breakdown lane of the highway, and he stopped to report an erratic driver who he had witnessed a few minutes prior to stopping.

The erratic driver then came onto the same section of the highway and slammed into the parked truck from behind. Police reported that the driver suffered minor injuries and had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment. They are anticipating bringing charges against the driver of the second tractor-trailer for driving recklessly and causing a dangerous accident on the highway.
