Distracted Massachusetts driver causes head-on collision

10/29/2013

A head-on collision that resulted in two motorists being transported to a local hospital with serious injuries happened on Oct. 4. The car accident happened on Pleasant Street in the town of Pembroke.

The crash occurred when a female motorist from the town of Kingston drove her Ford pickup truck across the median and crashed into a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The pickup truck collided head on with a Jeep around 6 p.m.that was being driven by a female driver from the town of Halifax. The driver of the Ford truck told police that she took her eyes off of the road briefly and accidentally drifted out of her lane.

Both women were transported to South Shore Hospital to receive treatment for their injuries in ambulances provided by the Pembroke Fire Department. It was reported that both cars suffered serious damage in the accident. Police also stated that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and the driver of the pickup truck will be facing two unspecified citations. A representative from the Pembroke Fire Department indicated that if either vehicle had been transporting passengers, the Fire Department would have had to contact a neighboring town to provide additional ambulances because of other emergencies occurring simultaneously that had depleted the town’s ambulance supply.

Individuals who have been seriously injured in a traffic accident may need professionals to help them pursue compensation for their losses. Attorneys who are experienced in personal injury cases may be able to assist their clients with securing compensation for damages, so they can move forward with their lives.
